Blog #3: Let accessories be accessories.

Everyone knows that accessories can take a look from simple to chic. However, as we the consumers are bombarded with the latest headbands, bangles, handbags, and belts, it is fairly easy to over-accessorize and over-spend. Want to know how to save yourself from looking like this:

Here are a few tips to help you minimize what you spend to maximize your look.

1. Focus.

Yes, the first tip is quite simple but hard for some to do. Try this: Put together your entire look (including accessories), try it on, and look in the mirror. Can you decided what's the main feature of your look? If the answer is no, chances are you have too many elements. It's OK to add multiple accessory items to enhance a particular look; however it's important to be sure that they are adding to the look and not taking away from each other. For example, if you have on a large pair or earrings, you probably won't need a large, heavy necklace to go with it (ESPECIALLY if you have a shorter than average neck). Try removing one or replacing it with a smaller, more lightweight item. The important thing here is to keep it simple and focus.
